The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra are one of Europe’s foremost contemporary Big Bands under the visionary leadership of Artistic Director Tommy Smith - one of the finest saxophonists of his generation and a world-renowned recording artist.

Tonight it’s time to swing, as the Orchestra with guest pianist Brian Kellock invite you to celebrate the extraordinary music of three great jazz legends: Count Basie, Duke Ellington and ‘Fats’ Waller. Pivotal to the evolution of 20th Century orchestral jazz, Basie, Ellington and Waller created music that defined an era and left a legacy of wonderful tunes.

The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra have chosen a fabulous range of pieces - foot tapping favourites, infectious swing, mellow mood and contemporary jazz - including tracks such as Basie’s wonderful Li’l Darlin’, Kid from Red Bank and Splanky, Ellington’s famous Daybreak Express and Single Petal of a Rose and Waller’s Jitterbug Waltz and Honeysuckle Rose. An unmissable evening with musicians of the very highest order!
